Grip, Rip & Sip Classic — Official Rules

Scoring System
  • Same format as the Ryder Cup
  • 1 point available per match
  • Tie = 0.5 points each team
  • Match play — closed out teams still finish the round
  • Max score: Net double bogey. Your max is par + 2 + any strokes you receive on that hole. Example: Par 4 where you get 1 stroke → max is 7 (4 + 2 + 1). If you pick up and record the max, you tie — but a player who actually makes the max score beats a player who picks up for the same number.

Day 1
2-Man Best Ball — Best net score between teammates counts per hole. Match play.
Day 2
2-Man Total Score — Combined net score of both teammates counts. Match play.
Day 2 PM
Fun Scramble — No points, no pressure. Just good golf and good vibes.
Day 3
Individual Match Play — Head-to-head, hole by hole. Cup decided here.

Rules & Etiquette
  • Handicaps: Full handicaps, adjusted for slope rating based on the tee box you play. Use the correct tee and app-adjusted index.
  • Ball down — you may roll it in your own fairway only. Everywhere else play it as it lies. Captains can call lift/clean/place if weather conditions are bad.
  • Gimmes allowed — but this is a competition. If you don't hear it's good, putt it out. 🔥
  • Mulligans: Two off the first tee only. No do-overs after that.
  • Rocks/roots/sketchy lies: Drop to nearest safe spot, no closer to hole. Common sense applies.
